Message from the NPower National Coordinator- Mr. Afolabi Imouekhede at a Special Meeting with NPower Volunteers in Auchi, Edo State
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Job creation, Mr. Afolabi Imouekhede on Monday said that President Muhammadu Buhari is committed to solving the problem of youth unemployment in the country. Adding that NPower, one of the components of the National Social Investment Programme of the current administration is a way of proffering solution to unemployment challenges in the country.

In line with President Muhammadu Buhari's promise to create jobs, revive the economy and tackle corruption, the Presidential aide said that NPower is a programme designed for every unemployed youth regardless of religious or political affiliation.
According to him, the federal government is also working to revive small businesses with the establishment of TraderMoni and SMEs Clinics across the country. He urged all participants at the meeting to take advantage of this opportunity.
Mr. Afolabi said that the 177 Batch A NPower volunteers who have not received their device will have the opportunity to select their devices in January alongside the 2017 Batch of NPower beneficiaries.
He explained that the devices have been preloaded with materials and resources needed for learning and entrepreneurship, so Volunteers should leverage on this to gain skills and knowledge.
The National Coordinator told the 2016 Batch A Volunteers to continue to work at their various Places of Primary Assignment as the programme has been enhanced with better package, details of which will be made available shortly.
Earlier, the Edo State NPower Focal person, Ms Osayuwamen Aladeselu urged the beneficiaries to love their job and be committed, explaining that opportunity comes to those who are ready for it and what they do now will add value to their lives.
NPower is one of the components of the National Social Investment Scheme with a mandate to provide jobs for 500, 000 unemployed graduates.
